RPL is when a training provider formally recognises your previous experience, such as work experience, informal training, or volunteering, and counts this towards a qualification. It is an assessment process used by RTOs to evaluate a person's skills, knowledge, and experience gained through working and learning, in Australia or overseas, be it through life experience, work, or other activities such as volunteering. RTOs can also provide a credit against units of competency, often shortening the time needed to undertake a qualification.
RPL is based on the relevance of the experience or training to the qualification you want to do.
RPL can help you get into a course and/or reduce the number of units you'll need to do to get a qualification.
Assessment Criteria for RPL
RPL applications are assessed by RTO and it usually takes into account the following factors.

- On-the-job skills and work experience
